Fantastic experience: I was an EAP 2 student at CCEL. Based on my personal experience, CCEL is a good place for students to gain eligibility to enrol in UC courses. It also helped me improve my English proficiency. All the staff I met at CCEL were very nice, friendly, and supportive. My teacher, Murphy, is a responsible and dedicated teacher, and I benefited a lot from his teaching.

Fantastic experience: Thank you for making me feel like home away from home. Thank you for the knowledge that CCEL gave to me. Thank you all the staff and teachers, that takes good care of me. See you in the future. I love CCEL.

Negative experience: EAP2 is a useless and boring course. ChatGPT plus is better than studying here. The poor teaching quality at CCEL has made me seriously question the teaching standards at UC. The whole course is composed of practices after teaching some worthless techniques that you can get anywhere and never-ending exams. I don’t even understand what the point of some of these formalistic assessments is. waste my time and money.

Negative experience: Not Worth the Time or Money. I want to share my honest experience at CCEL Christchurch. Some teachers here are kind and helpful (especially middle grade classes), but not all. In lower-level classes, some teachers don’t teach grammar properly and just let students talk without structure. In higher-level classes like EAP2, some teachers follow their own style and don’t care much about the curriculum. This kind of problem can happen in many English schools, so I understand. But the worst part is the management. The Academic manager or Centre manager is very disrespectful to students. He don’t listen or try to help at all. The ladies at the front desk are also not helpful. Sometime even rude. They don’t take responsibility when students ask for support and just ignore you. If you read the low star reviews here, I have to say they are all true. Nothing has improved from the the years past. So, if you don’t want to waste your time, money, and energy, I recommend finding another school. Because of this terrible experience, I left New Zealand and moved to Australia. Plus, don't trust your agency for connecting you with CCEL, as either they don't care as well or they already know but walk away with commission.

Positive experience: Teachers are fantastic!! I had a good time here, however staff should be more helpful and polite. When I asked for help, he seemed like annoyed. BUT when I told him I want to extend my course. THERE YOU GO! Super friendly and helpful. This is not professional. Other than this marketing guy it was perfect. CCEL should consider this issue. I asked my friends if it’s just me. No! They did experience the same.

Negative experience: Watch out homestay they provided, the school doesn’t care about your requirements, they don’t help you when you don’t like these accommodations because they have business relationships with such hosts and all they want is to take money for them.

Negative experience: If I hadn't taken an EAP2 class, just for the EAP1 class, I would have given it 4 stars. EAP1 course is very good, helping me build confidence and interest in the language. However, the EAP2 course destroyed everything that I had got from the EAP1. Firstly, I got a teacher whose teaching style didn't suit me, even though almost every classmate said they couldn't understand him. Then, I went to CCEL for help in the second week of the course, hoping to change to another class, but they refused me without giving me any reason. Since I couldn't change classes, my university required me to pass the EAP2, so I suffered a miserable 11 weeks here. In fact, I am not complaining about a particular teacher, but angry at the managers of CCEL who keep saying they will help me and make me believe them. I did what they told me to do, I spent a lot of money and time, and I still didn't get the promotion I wanted.

Fantastic experience: The school's environment is the best. Everyone is so helpful and friendly! I highly recommend this school, specially because of this most amazing teacher John, he is an awesome teacher and he is very funny too!
